So if you’re on the fence about the fire engine red car you’ve had your eye on, don’t let the color discourage you. Being a safe driver with a reliable vehicle should be your biggest concerns.
Out-of-state offenses won’t follow you home.
What happens out-of-state stays out of state, right? That’s the way the saying goes anyhow. Tickets, like speeding or parking tickets, do in fact follow you home. Common misconceptions about out-of-state offenses are that they will stay in the state where the offense took place. Since tickets are distributed using your driver’s license number, it is easily trackable between states. It is also reported directly to your insurance company. So, think twice about skipping out on paying that out-of-state ticket!
The smaller the car, the cheaper to insure.
The size of your car does affect your policy. But it is dependent on the model of the car. Of course, your previous driving history, credit history, claims history and year of your car play a major factor, too. Generally speaking, a smaller car is more expensive to insure than a large car due to the safety level, although this isn’t always the case. The larger the engine in a small car, the more expensive it is to insure.
